Barbara Ann Corcoran
Barbara Ann Corcoran is an American businesswoman. She founded The Corcoran Group, a real estate brokerage in New York City, which she sold to NRT for $66 million in 2001, and shortly after, she left the company. Corcoran is among ABC's original Shark Tank investors. Since her inception she has appeared in every 12 season of Shark Tank. In February 2020 Corcoran had signed 53 deals, with the largest being a $350,000 investment that covered 40 percent of Coverplay. Corcoran was second child in a family of 10 kids who was born in Edgewater. Florence Corcoran was Florence's mother and was a homemaker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. was her father. He was constantly moving between jobs and another throughout Corcoran’s childhood. The family relied on food delivered by an artisanal local grocery store for free food. Corcoran states that her father was a drunken man who did her mother a disservice and disrespect. Corcoran had difficulty in school, and later found out that she had dyslexia. Corcoran went to an area Catholic elementary school before beginning high school at St. Cecilia High School in Englewood. Corcoran dropped a few classes during her first year, and then transferred to Leonia High School where she was a D student.
