Catherine Anne
Catherine Anne O'Hara OC (born March 4, 1954)is a Canadian-American actress as well as a comedian and writer. O'Hara has won a number awards, including the Genie Award (a Golden Globe Award), two Screen Actors Guild Awards and two Primetime Emmy Awards. In addition, O'Hara was awarded six Canadian Screen Awards. In 2018, she was named to the rank of an Officer of Canada. She also received the Governor General's Performing Arts Lifetime Artistic Achievement Medal in 2020. O'Hara was first noticed as an actress in 1974, as she was a part of The Second City improvisational comedy troupe in Toronto. Together with John Candy, O'Hara was part of the main cast of the sitcom Coming Up Rosie (1975-1978). O'Hara, Candy, and Dan Aykroyd began work in Second City Television's sketch comedy show (1976-1984). O'Hara received critical acclaim for her comedic acting and writing abilities, earning her a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Writer for a Variety Series in 1982. O'Hara was part of the newly formed Second City artistic Advisory Board and was led by Stephen Colbert. Other members of the board were Dwayne Colbert. Tina Fey. Keegan–Michael Key.
